Renaissance Costume Clinic: Bring your swatches, patterns, muslins, accessories, ideas, or finished costumes to share or for advice on clothing for the Renaissance.
We will have examples of costumes, accessories and underpinnings of this period (mostly second half of the 16th century,) books and patterns. We try to have both men and women's clothing of various classes. We'll be focusing primarily on Western Clothing, though we welcome any information you may want to share about other periods.
Our experts will be available to help you select appropriate fabric, create simple and easy underpinnings, embellish your costume, and look more appropriate for the Heart of the Forest or other Renaissance Faires. We usually have small demos or artists who share their work with us.
Creativity is admired and encouraged, and we'll also try to let you know how it was really done. We usually talk about some thrift store, retail and easy solutions for completing your costume as well as more complex researched recreations.
